Wednesday marked my three month anniversary at my no longer new job. it's been real. i guess that means i've been in london for almost four months now, and I think i could appreciate it a little bit more. In a concerted effort to like this city and become a Londoner (though the american accent will always betray me), i've done some massive explorations of metropolis.
having visitors helps, of course. dave's been down on weekends and my parents were here for graduation at the end of february. aimee is on her way and who knows after that. these photos are from various weekend visits of dave's including new year's day on the london eye and wanderings around the Borough Market/Southwark Cathedral area. a strange thing has been happening lately--the sun has peeked out. in fact, there's nothing for the sun to peek out from behind--blue sky chaos!
I suppose the apocalypse is coming.
close up of the London Eye
the "pod". though the wheel moves in super slow motion, "jumping" in and out is MEGA scary!
Parliament and Big Ben from way up high
and from far away
Dali statue in front of the Dali Museum on the Southbank...this photo makes me happy
Sir Francis Drake's boat parked on a canal off the Thames...next to this lovely pub, actually

Southwark cathedral from the back, or front?
entrance to Borough Market...something like "england's premier market for fruit, veg and fresh meat". it dates back to some ridiculous time in the 1300s. defo a must-see
bread and bakery yummies...packed on the weekends! the massive brownie in the background is totally worth £1.60
the gherkin from far away on the weekend empty streets of central london
